Woman Realizes She’s Been Wearing Her Bra Right After Finding Instructions On A Tag (And I Bet You Have Been Too)

Every woman will tell you that wearing a bra is something that they don’t need instructions for. It’s a daily routine that some women will not even remember how they learned how to do it. But there is no doubt that your first bra experience might have been a little awkward. All the fumbling may not have been fun, but otherwise, wearing your bra has become muscle memory.

But when a woman named Brittany Packnett recently came across instructions labeled “How to put on a bra,” this got her thinking. And when she shared it on Twitter, women could not believe that such a thing exists. It is not a surprise that putting on bras incorrectly or wearing the incorrect size does happen. In fact, there are women who are not even aware that there is a “right” or “wrong” way to wearing a bra.

The tag with the instructions is raising the question – “Is there a wrong way to put on a bra?”

Brittany Packnett, an “Educator, activist and speaker,” based on her bio, is the one responsible for sparking a debate online. In her Tweet, Brittany shared, “I’ve been putting on my bras wrong for twenty years. You probably have, too.”

At first, Brittany explains, “I was like… ‘girl bye I been doin this’ and popped on. But then I decided to read it…” She adds, “And I was all wrong. I was in the middle clasp and I did not do proper breast placement.”

She got this bra from ‘ThirdLove,’ an online retailer that sells designer bras. They claim to be able to fit a bra without ever seeing or measuring your chest size in person!

The instruction reads:

“How to Put on a bra”
1. Start by wearing your bra on the loosest hook
2. Gather each breast into the cup
3. Tighten the straps every other month

If you thought that the middle clasp is the sweet spot, then you’re wrong. But according to the instructions on the tag, the loosest clasp is actually the correct one.

When this post went viral, a shocking number of women admitted that they aren’t wearing their bras correctly. But if you’re unsure, it’s always a good idea to go get an expert opinion. This would save you a lot of money and give you much-needed comfort in the long run.

So, how will you know if your bra fits? A good at-home test is to bring or wear a tight T-shirt with you while you’re bra shopping. Remember that cotton clings to the skin and your bra isn’t will definitely tell you if it fits or not. So, if your bra fits over your body smoothly as it should, it will look great under your T-shirt or be totally invisible. However, if the bra is too tight, it will show through your T-shirt. This means that it’s a bad fit.

But what if you can’t physically go to the store to test this out? The good news? You can now buy one online. Always bear in mind that the most important part about wearing a bra is that you’re comfortable. Even though no set of instructions can assure that the pointers from this tag are valuable. In fact, it might lead to a better, longer-lasting fit.
