Vegan Food Company Executive, Arrested For Biting A Man’s Nose In A Parking Garage

Beyond Meat COO, 53, Arrested For Biting A Man’s Nose In A Parking Garage

Road rage is read. And that is something that we should avoid at all costs. Getting angry at another driver while behind the wheel should not be tolerated. If another driver is acting aggressively towards you, it is best to not stop your car or get out. The last thing you want is to get into a physical altercation with anyone.

This is precisely what happened in a parking garage on September 17, 2022 and it involved the COO of Beyond Meat and another man.

Douglas Ramsey, the 53-year-old Chief Operating Officer of vegan food company Beyond Meat, was arrested for allegedly getting into a physical altercation with another man. According to reports, Ramsey is accused of fighting and biting the other man’s nose. He also allegedly threatened his life.

On Saturday, September 17, 2022, around 10 p.m., the altercation took place in a Razorback Stadium parking garage. As Ramsey drove away in his Bronco after the game, a Subaru hit his front right tire from behind.

This was when things started to go out of hand…

Police reports as stated by KNWA/KFTA says that Ramsey allegedly got out of his car and “punched through the back windshield of the Subaru.” In response, the other driver got out of his car as well and confronted Ramsey.

Then Ramsey allegedly pulled the other driver “in close and started punching his body.” He “bit the owner’s nose, ripping the flesh on the tip of the nose.” In addition, the other driver said Ramsey threatened to kill him. People who saw what’s happening tried to stop them.

Authorities were also called to the scene. And when the officers responded, they saw “two males with bloody faces” near gate 15 of the parking garage. The police questioned both Ramsey, the other driver, and the witnesses. Ramsey was taken into custody at around 10:27 p.m. He was then booked at Washington County Jail.

Based on reports, the charges against him are terroristic threatening and third-degree battery.

Also, Ramsey will be scheduled for a court appearance for both charges which is said to be on October 19 and 20 at Washington County Circuit Court and Fayetteville District Court. Then on September 18th, 2022, Ramsey was released. He had been in custody on the terroristic threatening accusation with a $10,000 bond. His $1,085 bond resulted from a charge of battery.

Bloomberg states that Ramsey has worked with Tyson Foods in the past. In December of 2021, he was promoted to chief operating officer at Beyond Meat. In college, he studied at Southern Arkansas University. Additionally, he is also a member of the National Chicken Council and US Poultry & Egg Association.

Road rage is dangerous. While you are behind the wheel, you are responsible not only for your safety and that of your passengers, but also of the other motorists around you. Being wreckless can result in an accident.

And when something like this happens to you, it is best to keep calm and call for assistance right away. Never leave your vehicle unless you are 100% sure that it is safe to do so. Confronting another person is a bad idea. And when you are the one being confronted, behaving like how Ramsey did is wrong. Because of his actions, he has to face these charges.
