Life can sometimes be hard and for some, buying a meal even though it is a simple sandwich and a drink is considered a luxury. This is why the gas station owner in Rains County, Texas shocked the locals when he posted a sign to his store door about an invite to those who do not have any money or those who are jobless to come in, have a sandwich and a bottle of water for free.
Star Mart Gas Station is owned by Frank Hemani. He decided to help those who are less fortunate by offering a sandwich and a drink for people who didn’t have money and those who are jobless. When he was interviewed by KLTV he said that it might just be a little help and would cost a couple of bucks but this also means that somebody will no sleep with an empty stomach.
The sign reads:
“If you don’t have the money or a job you can have a sandwich and a bottle of water for free.”
Hermani explained that if they are hungry, he will feed them. If they have children, he will definitely give them something to eat. An employee named Andrea Wissman who has been a star witness to this kind act said, “We have ham and cheese sandwiches and sometimes he throws some of our breakfast tacos in here, as a little different they can have a choice.”
According to Hermani, he was inspired to start offering food for free after he saw a video online about someone who is also doing the same thing. For him, it is really nice to help the community because once upon a time, he also went hungry. For Hermani, the kids in this country or anywhere in the world does not need to wait for Christmas to get good things. Hermani thinks they should get it whenever they deserve. The store gives about five to six sandwiches per week.
For Hermani, he wants to encourage other stores out there to do the same. If more people would start doing the same, it will be one good thing for the world. For sure, no one would go hungry anymore.
Many people have learned about Hermani’s kind gesture to his community. Readers praised him for being generous and helpful. One comment reads, “I’m extremely proud of this man his generosity just wish that more of these businesses would follow his lead.
” There is no reason why establishments like this can’t give these individuals who are going through a really hard time or that are homeless a sandwich or whatever they have made already. Another reader said that he has seen businesses throw leftovers away when they could have done something to help someone out.
“God Bless This Man an His Family For Thinking Of Others As Well.”
It may be a small thing for most people, but if you come to think of it, helping others does not require you to give thousands of dollars. It is nice to know that there are still kind-hearted people in this world who becomes a blessing to those who are in need. Let us all take the chance to help. A little effort can go a long way.
