Baba Vanga, a blind Bulgarian mystic known for her accurate predictions, has supposedly foreseen a series of catastrophic events for the remainder of 2023, including a nuclear disaster, a solar storm, and a shift in Earth’s orbit. According to her followers, she also predicted a bioweapons attack by a superpower, the rise of a new religion centered on artificial intelligence, and the end of natural pregnancies with the advent of laboratory-grown babies. While her prophecies are cryptic and difficult to verify, Baba Vanga has gained global recognition as the “Nostradamus of the Balkans.”

Legend has it that Baba Vanga acquired her prophetic abilities after losing her sight in a dust storm at the age of 12. She claimed to possess the gifts of prophecy and healing, attracting people from all walks of life, from tsars to peasants, who sought her counsel. However, as she was unable to write, her predictions were recorded by those around her, resulting in a lack of first-hand accounts of her visions.

Despite this, some of Baba Vanga’s predictions have appeared to come true. In 1989, she reportedly prophesied the September 11 attacks, referring to them as the American brethren being attacked by “steel birds” with innocent blood gushing. She also correctly predicted that America’s 44th President would be Black, which was fulfilled by Barack Obama in 2009. Additionally, her claim that Europe would “cease to exist” by 2017 has been interpreted by some as a reference to the 2016 Brexit vote.

Baba Vanga’s success rate with predictions has been estimated at around 85% by Bulgarian and Soviet scientists who studied and tested her throughout her life. She even purportedly foresaw her own death on August 11, 1996, at the age of 85.

However, skeptics argue that the lack of written records and the cryptic nature of her predictions make it difficult to determine their accuracy. Despite this, many of Baba Vanga’s followers continue to believe in her prophetic abilities and place great faith in her predictions.

While it is intriguing to contemplate the validity of Baba Vanga’s prophecies, it remains to be seen whether her doomsday visions for the remainder of 2023 will come to pass.
