Newborn Baby Boy Has the Same Birthdate As Dad And Great-Grandpa, A Very Rare Coincidence That Shocked The Family!

If we meet someone who has the same birthday as ours, don’t we feel like it’s a small world? That is because this is a one in a million chance! But how lucky can you be if you have the same birthday as those who are part of your family?

A new baby is happily and excitedly welcomed in the family. But we all know that the process will not be that easy. There might pregnancy problems and complications along the way. We have to admit, having a baby can be exciting but the entire family also need to expect for anything out of the ordinary.

This is what happened in this story.

Jordyn Eppard from Littleton was rushed to the hospital on July 1, 2017. Jordyn was pregnant and she was supposed to have her baby by the end of the month, but something changed. Jordyn started to feel labor pains two weeks before her expected due date because the baby was supposed to come out mid-July.

As it turned out, the baby was all ready to come out!

Jordyn said, “I did not want him to come on the 1 at all because it was 17 days early. That can sometimes cause problems. For me, I just wanted him to be healthy more than anything.”

As soon as she arrived a the hospital, her doctors told her that she would need to have the baby through an emergency caesarian section. C-Section was the last thing that she wants to do but the baby’s head was stuck in her birth canal so the doctors did not have any options left. She recalled, “They broke my water and I wasn’t progressing the way they wanted me to.” Even though she faced pregnancy complications, the doctors were able to safely deliver the baby.

They named him, Beuden Matthew James Eppard who weighed 8lbs and 11 ounces who was born on July 1st.

The family never thought that something odd would happen, especially Jordyn’s husband, Connor. All Jordyn thought was that she will deliver the third generation baby of the family. But after welcoming the baby, the family was in shock when they realized something about Beauden’s birthday – he has the same birthday as his father and great-grandfather!

While his wife was still in the recovery room Connor called his dad, Beauden’s great-grandfather, James, and told him that the baby was safely delivered and he is sharing the same July 1st birthday! James was speechless and hours later, he made sure that he was at the hospital to visit his great-grandchild.

Sharing a birthday definitely happens and it’s not all that rare. Studies reveal that in a room full of 23 people, there is a 50% chance that two of them have the same birthday. The chances increase to 99.9% when the number of people goes to 75. However, Beauden’s birthday was even rarer than that.

The odds of Beauden having the same birthday with his dad and great-granddad are 33,374 to 1!

Some would think that this is nothing, but you can’t help but think that Beauden’s birthday was definitely a miraculous coincidence given the fact that he was born 17 days early!
