Much as we are always encouraged to listen to our guts, sometimes it may seem like we are being paranoid and end up ignoring it altogether. Not surprisingly, most of those times the feeling often materializes to something that affects not just us but also other people around us, and we are left to blame ourselves for not doing something about. One mother of three from New Jersey woke up to a rather spooky morning, and when the hairs at the back of her neck wouldn’t lie back down, she decided to something about it. She is glad she did.

On Wednesday, Koeberlie Bull, a mother of two interracial children experienced something that forced her to reach out to the authorities. She logged in to her Facebook and found what could be described as an alarming message. A white twenty-year-old male named Dylan Jarrel had left her information that seemed to threaten her children as well as those in their school. He used racists terms to refer to them and generally, the whole message was a threat as well as an insult. What spooked her further was his profile picture; the man was casually posing with what looked like a firearm.

Without hesitation, Bull reached out to call the police but felt that not much could be done; the only evidence she had was the message. The man had not necessarily mentioned anything about an attack but her gut told her that he was going to, and it would be gruesome. The frightened woman, therefore, took a screenshot of the message and shared it with her friends on Facebook. At that time, the man had blocked her so she could not get any more information about him.

Her friends reached out to help her, and in no time they had gathered enough details about the cyberterrorist. Bull forwarded the information to the police, and they took it seriously. The officer she talked to told her that there was no room for such hatred in the world, and assured her that they would do something about it.

Both state and local police worked on the investigation. The next day, they drove up to his residence only to find him leaving his house. When they approached, they were shocked to learn that Dylan was armed to the teeth with more than two hundred rounds of ammunition. He also had a bullet-proof vest, a firearm, and evidence that unveiled his plan of attack. The man was going to carry out a school shooting in two counties.

When the cops searched further, they found that he had been researching how to carry out a school shooting. Darrel had also been questioned by the FBI earlier regarding social media posts he had made that pointed towards his current plan. He was arrested without much ado and is detained at the police station awaiting his trial.

The school and parents reached out to Bull to thank her for her intervention that had saved hundreds of lives. One can only imagine what would have gone down if the mother had decided against her instincts. On her part, she thanked God for the timing and urged everyone else receiving such alarming messages to report them to the police. They may just end up saving a lot of lives.
