Michael Exposes The Truth About His Relationship With Kelly Years After Leaving Their Show

It has been six years since left “Live With Kelly and Michael.” He appeared in “Good Morning America” to finally open up about the truth regarding his relationship with Kelly.

Everyone knows that it was a bit of a sour end for these two. Strahan left three months earlier than intended, and his co-host, Kelly Ripa, was also taken aback by his decision. As a result, she took a week off from the show. And when she came back, she acknowledged why she left.

However, her explanation was a bit vague. Ripa explained to her audience at the time after returning to the show. She said: “I needed a couple of days to gather my thoughts; after 26 years with this company, I earned the right. (This) started a much greater conversation about communication and consideration, and most importantly respect in the workplace… apologies have been made.”

Strahan didn’t answer the questions about the show’s cancellation and his relationship or lack of relationship with Ripa just until recently. He has said that he regrets leaving the show, but his relationship with Ripa is not the same as when they both worked there.

Today, both Ripa and Strahan continue to host their respective morning programs, “Live with Kelly and Ryan” for Ripa with Ryan Seacrest joining the show as co-host in 2017, and “Good Morning America” for Strahan. He also co-hosts the afternoon edition of the morning show with Sara Haines.

In a past interview with the New York Times, Strahan also mentioned that he and Ripa had some problems behind the scenes while they were still hosting. He said, “I remained the same person I was from Day 1. One thing I will not do is alter my attitude for somebody else’s. I learned so much from Kelly, so much from (executive producer) Michael Gelman. When it was time to go, it was time to go. Certain things that were going on behind the scenes just caught up.”

He also clarified that he had no hate over what happened. He adds, “If people think, ‘Oh, he hates her’ – I don’t hate her. I do respect her for what she can do at her job. I cannot say enough about how good she is at her job.”

Strahan claimed that he made an effort to resolve their differences. He said, “One thing I tried to do is have a meeting every few weeks with her. We met a few times, and that was fine. But then eventually she said she didn’t need to meet. Can’t force somebody to do something they don’t want to do.”

From what Strahan said in an interview with Time, he also said that his friendship with Ripa faded when he departed. To be honest, they barely communicate with one another anymore. He said, “I learned through all that went down with that, you can’t convince people to like you. I haven’t spoken to her in a long time.”

He also said that he learned things from his time co-hosting with Ripa. He said, “You learn how to craft a story. “What did you do last night?” “Oh, I had a glass of water.” But you learn to tell the story to make it seem like the most interesting glass of water. Those are things that I learned from her. She’s brilliant in that way.”

Their fans and followers of the show had many questions as to why things happened. But now, things have been cleared up after Michael opened up about his side of the story.
