Man Builds A Modified Kayak So He Can Take His Golden Out On Adventures

David first came up with the idea of taking Susie out on the water when he noticed that she fit perfectly into the baggage compartment of his kayak. To ensure her comfort and safety, he added coaming to keep her dry during the ride. Susie, full of spirit as a Golden Retriever, thoroughly enjoyed this new adventure and seemed to love being out on the water. However, she never jumped out of the kayak until they returned to the shore.

Linda later introduced Ginger, another Golden Retriever, to the family. Not wanting to exclude their new puppy from their kayaking excursions, David made an additional hole in the kayak to accommodate Ginger. Just like Susie, Ginger embraced the idea and eagerly joined in the adventures.

The trio, consisting of David and his two canine companions, embarked on many enjoyable outings on the water. Both Susie and Ginger were well-behaved and obedient, making it easy for David to control them and keep them away from the water until it was time to disembark.

Sadly, after many years of shared experiences and cherished moments, Susie and Ginger passed away. Despite the deep sense of loss felt by David and Linda, they take solace in the knowledge that their pets were deeply loved and had lived lives full of joy and adventure.

Although their beloved companions are no longer with them, David and Linda’s kayaking tradition lives on. They adopted another Golden Retriever puppy named Piper, who shares their love for exploring the water and creating lifelong memories with his adoring owners in Vermont.
