‘Tis the season of joy and giving.

This is why IKEA store in Catania, Italy want to spread the love not only to their human customers but also to the homeless dogs in the streets. This means that they let these stray animals sleep on their rugs inside the store!

In this cold winter season, this is probably the best decision that an establishment has ever made for these poor homeless animals.

Their warm-hearted deed came to light after one customer, Martine Taccia, went shopping one day and stumbled upon a few dogs lounging comfortably around the store’s furniture displays. During an interview with The Dodo, Taccia said, “My reaction was pure amazement. It’s not a common thing.

” She then sent a video of these pups to her mom who then posted the clip on Facebook. This is when the story opened the hearts of many people from all over the world.

This is why customers could not help but applaud the store for their hospitality. Their effort to give these dogs a temporary shelter during the cold winter season immediately went viral. Many are amazed that the company kickstarted the season of giving and this has made their customers happy.

They didn’t mind seeing these dogs while they are shopping their way through the sets of furniture. In fact, many customers love to see them around.

It seems like the store went over and beyond with their efforts to help. They definitely exceeded their customers’ expectations. They are giving daily food and pampering to these dogs from the IKEA employees and customers. Shoppers do not mind giving these dogs a little belly-rub or a scratch on their furry heads!

In fact, some dogs were able to find a forever home with some of their customers even though IKEA is no advertising that they are letting dogs in this winter season. According to The Dodo, the IKEA employees and customers make sure that these dogs have more than just a roof over their heads.

A customer also shared pictures of these cozy-looking dogs on Instagram said, “I love the Swedes for this. With IKEA even the strays have a home.” An Instagram user commented saying, “What an absolutely fantastic thing to do! Showing such compassion to these poor creatures is a fine example to us all.”

This is not the first time that IKEA showed their support for animals, especially dogs. In fact, they partnered up with Home For Hope’s campaign in 2014. This is when IKEA stores in Singapore and the United States helped encourage pet adoption by displaying cardboard cutouts of some shelter dogs in their stores.

The internet is surely smitten with this idea. To help, some customers post their own photos of IKEA’s fluffiest residents by making themselves at home at the store’s display rooms. These animals are surely thankful that IKEA extended love towards them.

Everyone is hoping that through this effort, other people will also be encouraged to take at least one pooch under their care, and better yet, provide a forever home to one of them.

Other than helping dogs, IKEA in the United Kingdom also opened their doors to stranded motorists earlier this year. The store let them sleep in their beds after a crash shut down a motorway. They were stuck for up to six hours after a crash near junction 30 and 31 on M25.

the Swedish furniture store cannot dare let these people get stuck in their cars. So the Thurrock IKEA store in Essex offered their beds to these stranded motorists.
