Honda Recalls More Than 330,000 Vehicles

Honda has issued a recall for more than 330,000 vehicles in the United States due to a potential issue with the rearview camera display. The affected models include 2018-2020 Honda Accord and Accord Hybrid, and 2019-2020 Insight vehicles.

According to the company, the rearview camera display may not show images, which could increase the risk of a crash. The issue is caused by a software glitch, which can prevent the rearview camera from displaying images when the car is shifted into reverse.

Honda has stated that they will notify owners of the affected vehicles starting on April 19, 2021. Owners can then take their vehicles to a Honda dealer to have the software updated free of charge.

This is not the first time Honda has issued a recall due to a software glitch. In October 2020, the company recalled more than 1.4 million vehicles in the United States due to a software issue that could cause the car’s engine to stall.

Honda is not the only carmaker to issue recalls in recent months. In March 2021, General Motors issued a recall for more than 69,000 Chevrolet Bolt electric vehicles due to potential battery fires.

Recalls are not uncommon in the automotive industry, as manufacturers often discover issues with their vehicles after they have been released to the public. These issues can range from minor defects to major safety concerns, and carmakers are required to address them through recalls.

If you own a 2018-2020 Honda Accord or Accord Hybrid, or a 2019-2020 Insight vehicle, be sure to keep an eye out for notifications from Honda about the recall. If you have any questions or concerns, contact your local Honda dealer for more information.
