Homeless Pup Found Shivering Up In Nativity Scene Next To Baby Jesus On A Cold Night
Jan 13th, 2020
Christmas day is fast approaching and people are excited to spend this ‘most wonderful time of the year’ with family and friends. In this cold season, most of us are inside our warm and comfortable homes.
But what about the homeless animals? Are they able to find warmth and comfort too?
Well, this homeless dog from Criciuma, Brazil surely did. This happened years ago but every Christmas season, his photo will be brought up and shared online. Simply because this homeless dog sought warmth and comfort in a Nativity Scene and managed to warm the hearts of millions of people from all over the world.
In the photo, the pup can be seen curled up in a Nativity Scene, next to baby Jesus. This cold and hungry pup was spotted by a group of women when they were on their way to visit a nativity scene. Each of them was emotionally moved when they saw a puppy curled up next to the doll representing baby Jesus.
They took a picture of this poor dog and shared it online. Since then, it has been an inspiration to millions of people worldwide.
Hopefully, more and more people will realize that there are thousands, probably millions of animals who are cold and hungry this holiday season. Some of those who share this photo are also hoping that someone would be able to see these photos and give a pup like this one a forever home too. Just like other homeless animals out there, it is obvious that all this pup need is the love of a family.
This pooch’s story is symbolic of the struggles of what the millions of homeless animals have to face every day. Despite the efforts of many animal rescue groups and shelters, and even by concerned individuals, there are still so many homeless animals no matter where you go. Sometimes we wonder how come they don’t have a family.
In fact, many of them have collars or they do not look like street dogs, which means that some of them were left by their owners.
So as we celebrate this sacred and holy time of the year, where we share the love and value the life of our Creator, let us not forget the other creatures that He has blessed us with. Let us give homeless animals, like this pup, the help or better yet, forever home that they deserve.
Homelessness is not only a major issue for humans, but also for animals too. In fact, records reveal that homeless animals outnumber homeless people by 5 to 1. Every year over 2.7 million homeless dogs and cats are killed because shelters are too full. There are also not many adoptive homes that can take them in.
Adopting an animal might not be an option for you right now, but showing just a little bit of kindness can go a long way. Provide food, shelter, and a simple act of kindness.
While you spend your time this year with family and friends, also take this as a chance to give the gift of warmth and love to strangers, even to these homeless animals who are in desperate need of these simplest things in life.
