This September will be the 10th year since the world bid goodbye to Patrick Swayze. This is the best time to celebrate his legacy once again because of the new documentary that shows his body of work and a glimpse of his personal life behind the cameras.
“I Am Patrick Swayze” is a new documentary that will air on the Paramount Network. This will show the actor’s road to fame and why he is loved by his fans.
Swayze was born in Houston on August 18, 1952. His mom, Patsy Yvonne Helen, was a dancer, a choreographer, and a professional dance instructor. Later on, her passion would shape Patrick’s life because they both share the love and dedication to dance and perform.
He appeared and starred in over 50 projects throughout his life. This includes The Outsiders, Red Dawn, Dirty Dancing, Road House, and Point Break. He also starred in plenty of memorable movies and television series. Before he passed away, he was able to complete one season of the popular television show, The Beast. Not everyone knew that during this time, Swayze was already battling with pancreatic cancer.
Sadly, Swayze lost on his battle with cancer on September 14, 2009, just two years after his diagnosis.
The new documentary will show the interview with his costars as well as the people close to him who knew who he was, have an idea of his wonderful spirit and has been with him through his battles.
On this documentary, Swayze said, “I have these demons that run around in my insides. I’ve done everything in the world thinking I’m going to get rid of them, and I don’t know if I ever will.”
His ‘Ghost’ costar, Demi Moore said, “Patrick had something about him that was very rugged, but he also had that beautiful, gentle, sensuous ability to move.”
Rob Lowe also has something to say about this man. He explained, “Patrick performed like he had something to prove,” Rob Lowe adds. “He was a gymnast, a world-class cowboy, a ballet dancer … really?”
Patrick was more than a triple threat. More than becoming an international sex symbol, everyone who knows him is aware that he could sing, dance, act, fly planes, do gymnastics, while he kept a steady marriage until his last breath.
His wife Lisa Niemi revealed something about her husband. She said that he would be bubbly and fun but as soon as he is all by himself and alone, he would ‘just crash.’
Since the news of his upcoming documentary, people have been expressing how excited they were to watch the film. All of the comments that this clip is getting is a clear indication that through the years, his fans missed him dearly.
