Dog Walks Up To Cop Barking Aggressively — Then He Figures Out He’s Asking For Help

We all know that dogs are the number one choice for family pets. But aside from that, we also know that some of them are considered as heroes. This is why many of them are being recognized for their bravery in the war zones for helping soldiers detect dangerous areas. This is also one of the reasons why they make good partners to police officers.
Dogs have the special abilities to sniff out drugs, assist in tracking down criminals, and even family dogs have these capabilities too!
Officer Jeff Gonzales was patrolling the Washington County, Wisconsin area on February when he noticed a lone black labrador roaming the streets. He approached the dog and he realized that this pup was wearing a collar so the officer assumed that he belonged to someone. He noticed that the dog was in distress. The officer said that the dog just stood there and barked a little bit.
So he rolled down his window and called for him. The dog wagged his tail and even got more friendly as soon as he got out of the car.
The Germantown is small so the police officer did not have any trouble following the dog back to safety. While following the pup along the safe streets in Germantown, he then realized that this dog is known as “John Boy” and he is trying to tell the officer something. The dog led the officer back to his owner. This is when Gonzales figured that the pup is trying to ask for help.
He found the dogs’ owner collapsed in a chair in her front yard!
As soon as the officer saw this, he knew that something was wrong. He got out of his car and assessed the woman who appeared to be unresponsive. He said, “To be honest with you, I thought she was dead. And when I went up, she was very cold to the touch. Her lips were blue.” But the officer noticed the faintest hint of life left in the woman.
She is Krystal and Officer Gonzales was just in time to determine that she was still breathing and had a pulse. He immediately called for assistance. Luckily, his partner was close so they were able to get her in the house. The officer contacted Krystal’s daughter, Rianna Wendt who also came in a short while.
Wendt said, “Basically what he told me was, he said that they thought that she was dead.” When she arrived, Krystal was then taken to the Community Memorial Hospital in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin. The doctors ran some tests on her and monitored Krystal’s heart condition. With the proper medical assistance, Krystal was soon on the road to recovery!
Later on, Gonzales discovered that Krystal had taken John Boy out a few moments before she collapsed and had gone unconscious. It seemed like she was in the same spot on her lawn for two long hours while John Boy was desperately trying to get someone to come to rescue her.
The police officer was at the right place at the right time while the dog was on a mission to look for help. It goes to show that dogs are smarter than we thought they are. Sometimes it is best to listen to what your dog is saying, they might be telling you something important.
