Chick-Fil-A Employees Will Never Say “You’re Welcome.” This Is Why

If you have Chick-Fil-A in your state, you know you are lucky because you get the chance to treat yourself with good food from one of the best fast-food chicken.

Chick-Fil-A is one of the largest American fast-food restaurant chains. They are also the largest who specializes in chicken sandwiches. This was originally founded as “Dwarf Grill” way back in 1946. During the 1967 rebranding, their name was changed to Chick-Fil-A. The company now has over 2,300 branches and mostly are in the United States.

The company uses delicious ingredients to make their fried chicken stand out. They also use a 100% peanut oil frying method making them the healthier fast-food version. Other than that, they also have friendly and very accomodating employees. That is why their branches anywhere in the United States are always full from breakfast to dinner, except Sundays. This is the only time that the chain closes and their employees take a day off.

Chick-Fil-A is definitely unique in terms of food quality and service. But one of the practices that took a while for their patrons to get used to, was their different way of using words. They are polite, friendly, and always willing to help. But when you say “thank you” they reply with “my pleasure” instead of saying “you’re welcome” like many of us are used to!

These teen workers are not being extra posh with their responses. They are not even joking around. But why aren’t they saying “you’re welcome?”

If you turn to the internet for answers, you will be surprised to know that a lot of people have noticed this too. They also have the same question for Google. According to sources, the Chick-Fil-A employees are not trying to act prim and proper with their responses.

In fact, they are trained on how to interact with their customers. And responding with “my pleasure” is just one of the most important practices that the company want their employees to follow.

This tradition started around the same time that this fast-food chain started. The late founder Truett Cathy had a memorable experience at a Ritz Carlton Hotel.

According to the story, Cathy thanked one of the employees for their service. And to his surprise, the server responded with “my pleasure.” Cathy was impressed by the elegance of this response. So he brought the idea of using this classy phrase to his fast-food chain.

One of the Chick-Fil-A’s employees shared on Reddit that it is extremely important to follow the restaurant’s culture. The employee explained, “You’re welcome seems too indifferent, and we’re told to use elevated language.”

If you have been to Chick-Fil-A, what do you think about their posh responses? Do you think “my pleasure” is better than simply saying “you’re welcome?”

In this competitive world of fast-food chains, companies have to think of something that could make them stand out from their competition. We all know that Chick-Fil-A has huge competitions. With their effort to be better, not only with their food quality but with their customer service, their efforts didn’t go unnoticed.

More and more people notice this. And that is probably one of the reasons why they continue to become one of the most successful fast-food chains there is.
