Bikers Protect Anxious Children Who Are Facing Their Abusers In Court

The court environment is too scary, even for adults. So when kids have to face their abusers in court, a group of bikers decided to do something to help them feel at ease. It cannot be avoided that in some situations, kids have to stand trial and would be forced to face their abusers in court. And BACA wants to change this experience for these kids.
BACA means Bikers Against Child Abuse. They would do anything to stand by children who have to face difficult situations. This is an international organization that helps kids confront their abusers in court. BACA has a very powerful presence and their demeanor gives kids the confidence that they need. Whether it’s to talk about their traumatic experiences or speaking the truth about their abusers.
BACA was founded more than 25 years ago in Provo, Utah by John Paul Lilly or also known as “Chief.” The organization has already opened chapters in almost all of the 50 states as well as other countries from all over the world.
When Chief started this organization two and a half decades ago, his ultimate goal was to connect bikers with the abused children in order to help them get through their traumatic experiences and understand the justice system. One of the reasons why this mission is close to their hearts is because some of the bikers had the same experience as well.
Knowing what these kids had to go through, BACA decided to make it their mission to give these children the emotional support.
Their creed also states: “I won’t give up, shut up, let up until I have stayed up, stored up, prayed up, paid up, and showed up for all wounded children.”
Even by basing it on their creed, it is obvious that these bikers are serious in their efforts. If a new member joins the organization, swearing means they have to spend their life to love and protect. And this is the reason why BACA became very successful. Each of their members understands the gravity of their purpose.
One of the ways that they support children is in the courtroom. If a kid is going to court, they will send a group of bikers to support and stand by the child. Just imagine having a group of intimidating bikers toll up and form a squad in the courtroom as they show their support to a child.
There is no doubt that this support system is enough to vanish or even lessen the anxiety and fear that the child feels while facing the perpetrator.
A heartwarming move that BACA does is the ‘initiation’ that they do with the kids that they would be working with. First, they would show up to the house of this child for the very first time. The group would bring a patch and vest with the BACA logo on it.
Then the kid gets to wear the patched vest and know that he or she is part of this gang. That a lot of people will be there to support and care about him.
The kids know that they have supportive ‘big brothers’ who will be looking out for them no matter what. And this would boost their confidence to face any trial in their lives. As an icing to the cake, the kids also get to ride on the biker gang’s motorcycle! How cool is that?
