19-Year-Old Singer With “Stutter” While Speaking Wows AGT Judges With Flawless Performance

There were plenty of performances that surely caught our attention and melted our hearts in America’s Got Talent. But one singer had just completely floored the AGT judges in her moving performance.

She is 19-year-old Amanda Mammana. Unlike the other singers of AGT, Amanda is unique. She suffers from a speech limitation, but that didn’t stop her from becoming an incredible singer and chasing after her dreams of becoming one. In fact, when she’s singing, nobody can ever tell that has a stutter. And that’s exactly what amazed the judges.

During her introduction to the judges, Amanda said:
“As you can probably tell, I have a bit of a speech impediment, and it was definitely something that caused me to shy away and to hide, but I found that I don’t stutter when I sing.” She then explained what song she would be singing. Amanda is performing an original song!

She said, “I will be singing a song that I wrote, and it’s just about some hard times, and if I could go back and change those things, I wouldn’t because they made me, me.”

And when Amanda started singing, the room fell silent…

Not only was her singing talent amazing, but the song’s lyrics were as lovely as well. And of course, her performance was greeted with a standing ovation. It wasn’t until Amanda finished singing that she further revealed to the judges that growing up with a speech impediment had made her feel like she wasn’t “good enough.”

But the audience disagreed, and one of them yelled out, “You are good enough!”

It was truly an emotional moment not only for Amanda but for the audience and the judges as well. The judges didn’t hold back from praising the teen for her performance and determination.

Howie Mendel said, “Good enough doesn’t explain what we just heard. It’s not only good, but it’s also great. And look how you’re moving this audience. And I believe you’re moving millions of people right now home. I just want to say thank you.”

Heidi Klum agreed, saying, “You have a really, really beautiful voice. I love your voice,” she said. “There is a fire inside of you, and I want to see more of it.”

Sofía Vergara was equally impressed by her performance and told Amanda her song was incredibly “authentic.” She said, “Thank you for having the guts to follow your heart.”

And Simon Cowell also told the singer she was “amazing.” He also complimented her on being brave. He gave Amanda the first of four yes votes.

After her amazing audition on America’s Got Talent, people are now wondering who Amanda Mammana is. Initially, Amanda only sang covers, but she shared on her website that she soon started writing her own material.

She said, “I was able to take the pain and turn it into something real and beautiful. Because of the struggles, I went through, I was given the inspiration to write songs about the human condition.”

Amanda Mammana is a resident of Trumbull, Connecticut. According to her LinkedIn profile, she is currently enrolled at Liberty University. She also plans to pursue a career in the music industry after graduation. That is definitely something that would never be impossible for her to achieve, with her hard work and dedication to her passion for music.
